Creating and sticking to a realistic budget is a great way to save money for the things you really want, or if needs be to pay off a debt.  A budget helps you work out whether you’re living with in your means, helps you work out you’re disposable income and therefore what you can save.

To set a realistic budget a great thing to do is to write down everything you spend for a full week.  With a list of everything you’ve spent you will be able to work out areas you can cut back. If you’re over spending a little, then a few coffees here, a magazine there, maybe a sandwich made at home and you’ll find your spending can come back on track quickly.

We’ve provide a few tools to help you with the budget.  You can either download and print off daily, weekly and monthly budget planners or you can create an account on the site, log in each day and provide details of your spending.  At the end of the week and month we’ll provide you with a list of your spending with a breakdown of where you’ve spent to much or where you’ve saved.  If you want we can even send you an email to remind you to log in when you’ve missed a day.
